The "Chuckle Calendar" - latest update

Posted on Dec 6th, 2007 by Pete Middleton : Kronos Pete Middleton
This concept is gradually taking shape - for the latest explanation see my discussion board - which I sensed was the best place to begin to progress this seed of an idea.

I suspect I will enjoy the process involved in helping this to happen as much as seeing it completed and available for others to use as a (chuckle) resource!

Pete

p.s. Being totally new to all this internet stuff - I would also really appreciate any zaadsters comments about what does NOT WORK on any of these pages or any of my websites. After all, energy flows and ideas all begin from a negative source! It's amazing how many negative experiences occur daily, in every office around the world that in each instance provide a hidden gem for creating something absolutely fabulous. It's a natural paradox. Pity we have been educated / programmed to think differently. So talented folk - if anything occurs to you just shoot from the hip.

The "Chuckle Calendar"

Posted on Nov 30th, 2007 by Pete Middleton : Kronos Pete Middleton
Yesterday's blogg was titled "The Secret - Advent Calendar" which was the spark of an idea expressed by my decision to step out of my "Attention Disorder" (see blogg 2 days back).

Today this spark has become clearer in that I am withdrawing the reference to the title above, and changing it to The "Chuckle Calendar".

1. I do not wish to infringe the integrity of anyone's copyright, whether real or imagined
2. The concept behind the Advent Calendar is fabulous but this little project feels to have much more potential in it than to be limited by the possible seasonal association with the word "Advent", which of course can have different meaning to different people."Chuckle"  on the other hand has universal potential is great to share, anytime of the year.
3. As important is the fact that no-one has the right to limit or deprive others of their opportunity or ability to "Chuckle and the title is naturally expansive - there could be the "Kids Chuckle Calendar", The Canadian Mounties Chuckle Calendar", or even "The Siberian Society for the Salutation of Sub-terraean Subcutinous Shifting Sands Society Chuckle Calendar"!

The idea is to collect and compile entries for the first  "Chuckle Calendar during December to issue January and then month by month on a rolling basis. What better way to start a New Year than with a Chuckle!

Naturally like anything this will evolve in its own natural way.

I have already decided on my one and only New Year Resolution - To challenge myself to a "Chuckle a Day" and for my mantra for 2008 to be "A chuckle a day keeps Attention Disorder at bay"

:)

"The Secret - Advent Calendar"

Posted on Nov 29th, 2007 by Pete Middleton : Kronos Pete Middleton
Gotcha! It 's not what you think it is :)

However it is a "Secret" and it is an "Advent Calendar" of sorts .... or at least it is intended to be .... or to work like one. Once compiled it will be a present for the local Childrens Hospice (or anyone else for that matter). Stay with me on this, and I will explain.

Yesterday, in this blogg I expressed the fact that I have been suffering from serious "Attention Disorder" - failing to pay attention to things that make my soul sing. So today I allowed a little time for me - that's all it takes - and came up with the following idea (there are others that have made me smile - but one thing at a time).

Traditionally, in the lead up to Christmas one window of an Advent Calendar is opened to reveal something of delight.

I want to create an Advent Calendar that works in reverse! As a community we put something of delight INTO the calendar EACH day. Some snippet of humour, short, maybe single line entry, or even an amusing cartoon, anything that tickles your fancy (all copyright free of course) and together we create a Calendar full of "Crackers" (funny quips) that will cause a bit of laughter when opened and shared.

This Calendar will then be available (I might need some help here from IT literates out there) to either raise funds for your / my chosen charity or simply to be brought out at an approriate time during the festive season or thereafter to lighten someone's day.

My intention is that an email book of "Christmas Crackers" is produced that I can use to offer to the local Hospice for them to raise funds themselves through their own efforts and networks. This book will include "crackers suitable for adults as well as children" simply because we actually never really grow up - we just pretend.

There is only one rule. Before submitting an entry ask yourself this question:

Would LOVE submit this entry? ....... and listen for your answer.

If any doubt exists then simply ask again but this time specifically ask:

Would LOVE DEFINATELY submit this entry?

That's it.

Oh and the reason why this is  "The Secret - Advent Calendar" is because only The Universe knows how it will turn out! {{{{{{{{Ho Ho}}}}}}

Pete

p.s. I definately will need some techie assistance on this. Any offers?

p.p.s Oh and tag like mad if that makes any difference [it's new to me so I have no idea of the effect tagging has but it reminds me of a game I used to play when I was a child - - - only last week :) ]

Now called "The CHUCKLE CALENDAR" - see tomorrows entry for reasons.

A frustrating interlude!

Posted on Nov 28th, 2007 by Pete Middleton : Kronos Pete Middleton
I have made no entries since late July which is interesting.

In that time I have been suffering from excruciating "Attention Disorder" and it has been draining, distracting and immensely frustrating. In other words I have been spending my time and energy on things that do not really matter to me - checking and monitoring work undertaken by others, which includes work done by the largest, most experienced card manufacturer in Europe. In the manufacturing  process they screwed up so badly that I rejected 100% of their initial production run.

It is all sorted now - but what this episode has highlighted for me is that I sense my experience is a reflection of how it is for the majority of the working population - all suffering from serious "Attention Disorder". Put very simply, we allow circumstances, fears, other peoples expectations and social pressures to take away our focus on those things that make our heart sing.

We get sucked into this process because we think we have responsibilites. The paradox is that in so doing we lose conscious control and recognition of our Response -
Ability. The ability to pay attention to ourselves and our relationships and in turn our performance, personal happiness and families suffer.

And we think we are logical!

Hmm!

He could n't read, he could n't write and I hardly knew him ....... but more than 30 years after he died of all the people I have met in my life of international travel and in the corporate world, I still talk about him. My wife's grandfather was a window cleaner who had the courage to simply be himself. What astonishing power and influence we all have, if we could only do the same.
